The grand opening of Los Padillas pool in the far South Valley is delayed indefinitely due to contractors finding numerous problems.
The pool was originally expected to open on Saturday, June 15, but it is now delayed for further testing and construction.
Back in May, the contractors discovered major pipelines required extensive trenching and testing before the pool could be filled, according to a news release from Bernalillo County.
Then, on Thursday the county announced that still more work needs to be done. It said after contractors repaired the pipelines they discovered mechanical issues needed further inspection before the pool offically opens.
However Bernalillo County and Albuquerque have many other indoor pools open to the public.
