Albuquerque’s Fire Rescue Department responded to calls from at least 5 motorists stranded in flooded vehicles late Saturday night as a large thunderstorm dropped just under 1.5 inches of rain in about two hours across the metro.
City Desk’s Roberto Rosales captured the scene Downtown where storm water forced the closure of Central Avenue under the railroad bridge at 1st Street NW and patrons and staff of Marble Brewery at 1st and Marble NW were seen wading through knee-high water to leave.

Officially, the National Weather Service recorded 1.48 inches of rain at the ABQ Sunport, the most rain recorded in a single day so far this year.
