When you need help — whether for emergency service or when it is time to upgrade from your old swamp cooler to high-efficiency A/C — be sure you are on the lookout for deals that are too good to be true. They usually are. Scammers use hot weather to pitch unnecessary service or overpriced equipment on people desperate to beat the heat. Always check for a State License Number, see customer reviews in reputable sites like HomeAdvisor by Angi or Google Reviews that screen businesses and verify customer reviews, and never pay someone who insists on cash-only payment. Don’t let a scammer take advantage of you when you need help the most.
