Remember when there were rental scooters all around the city? The short-lived pilot program ended abruptly during the pandemic but last month we reported that City Councilor Tammy Fiebelkorn wants to make it easier for rental companies to come back to the Duke City. Now, one of the largest electric scooter companies wants to get its foot in the door. Reporter Elizabeth McCall spoke to a representative from Lime Scooters, who said the company has been in talks with city officials for more than a year.

Also, we’ve got a big announcement! City Desk ABQ welcomes new editor Andy Lyman along with some new staffers. Andy will be helming the ship with the help of assistant editor Elise Kaplan (fun fact: they went to journalism school together) and copy editor Katy Barnitz.

If you want to offer words of encouragement, congratulations or let him have it, you can email Andy here.
